ARA Data Corruption in Auto-Align 2 ARA for Pro Tools (session won't open)

Modified on Fri, 27 Feb at 9:51 AM

If you’re unable to open a session with Auto-Align 2 ARA, it usually means that the ARA data in the project has become corrupt.

This can happen when the ARA alignment data becomes out of sync with the session. Together with Avid, we are currently looking into a potential issue related to Pro Tools auto-save that may cause this.

We do our best to recover the alignment, but it’s important to review it and make sure it is correct.
If not, try opening an earlier save of your session or an automatic backup.
Automatic backups are stored in the Session File Backups folder next to your session file, and one of the recent backups is likely to open as expected.

Another known scenario that can sometimes cause such corruption is making an aligned track inactive, then active again, then saving without re-aligning the track.

Tip: When working with Auto-Align 2 ARA in Pro Tools, we highly recommend exporting and backing up your alignment (under SettingsExport). Once exported, the alignment can be easily restored using Import.
