Audio Unit Plug-Ins not found on M1

Modified on Tue, 11 May, 2021 at 1:58 PM

We had several reports of people not seeing their plug-ins under M1 Macs.

At the time of writing, Sound Radix plug-ins are Intel 64bit and have no native Apple Silicon versions yet.

They should however run well under Rosetta 2.

If you're not seeing one of your plugins in Logic Pro X:

  1. If Logic Pro X is open, close it first.

  2. Go to your Finder, From the menubar choose "Go" and click on "Go to Folder" menu item.

  3. Copy and paste the location "~/Library/Caches/AudioUnitCache" and click Go.

  4. Delete the file "com.apple.audiounits.cache".

  5. Go to your Finder, From the menubar choose "Go" and click on "Go to Folder" menu item.

  6. Copy and paste the location "~/Library/Preferences" and click Go.

  7. Delete the files:
    com.apple.audio.InfoHelper.plist
    com.apple.audio.SandboxHelper.plist

  8. Open the Terminal app (It's under /Applications)

  9. Copy and paste the following:
    killall -9 AudioComponentRegistrar

  10. Press the Return/Enter button to apply the command.

  11. Re-open Logic Pro X.
