On October 7, 2019, Apple released macOS 10.15 Catalina. In addition to new features, macOS 10.15 Catalina is the first version to completely remove 32-bit support. That means that it is no longer possible to run 32-bit apps and plugins in Apple's 64-bit operating system. For information regarding 32 Lives compatibility click here.

Another recent major change introduced with macOS Mojave 10.14.5 is the requirement to sign and notarize all .pkg .dmg, system extensions, and Applications. This security measure was put in place to ensure that the software you download and run is not malware.

The following product version (or newer) has been notarized and tested under Catalina:

  • Auto-Align 1.6.1
  • Auto-Align Post 1.1
  • Drum Leveler 1.1.3
  • Muteomatic 1.0
  • Pi 1.1.1
  • POWAIR 1.1.1
  • SurferEQ 2.0.4
  • SurferEQ Boogie 1.0.3

Q: Will older versions would work?

A: Based on our testing, it seems that Apple allows older versions to run while newer versions will require notarization.

Q: My host crash when trying to open a plug-in under Mojave or Catalina. Why is that?

A: To comply with Apple's notarization requirements, new hosts started to apply Hardened-Runtime. Missing some permissions required for plugins could limit the ability of such hosts to load or even crash with some plugins.

The following hosts have been tested:

  • Ableton Live 10.1
  • Cubase 10.5.5
  • FL Studio 20.6
  • Logic Pro X 10.4.8
  • Nuendo 10.2.10
  • Pro Tools 2019.12
  • Studio One 4.6
