iLok Authorization Error (Error 6004) when trying to open a plug-in in Logic Pro

Modified on Sun, 10 May at 6:04 PM

If you encounter an Authorization Error (Error 6004) in Logic Pro, it might be due to an issue with the latest iLok License Manager (v5.10.5). Going back to iLok License Manager v5.10.4 fixes the issue. Here's how:

  1. Download iLok License Manager version 5.10.4 from here: https://assets.soundradix.com/downloads/support/LicenseSupportInstallerMac%205.10.4%20b5324-72ed0501.zip

  2. Run the Uninstaller: Unzip the downloaded file, open the .dmg, and run Uninstall License Support. You must uninstall 5.10.5 first to ensure a clean downgrade.

  3. Install 5.10.4: Run the License Support.pkg file.

  4. Verify in Logic Pro: Launch Logic Pro. The plugin should now load successfully.

Troubleshooting

If the error persists, restart your Mac, launch Logic Pro, and go to the Logic Pro Plug-in Manager (Logic Pro menu -> Settings -> Plug-in Manager), locate Radical1, and click Reset & Rescan Selection.

Currently, we have seen this issue affecting Logic Pro on Apple Silicon. If you encounter this error in a different environment, please let us know. Note that this issue is expected to be resolved in a future iLok update.
